Visa for Marriage in America

Minors (unmarried and under 21 years of age) of a K-1 applicant can obtain immigration benefits from the same I-129F petition and be granted a K-2 visa. The fiancé's petition, Form I-129F, is the first necessary step for a foreign national visa applicant to marry and reside in the United States. The first step, Form I-129F must be filed and approved by the US Department of Homeland Security, Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) in the United States. The petition must be filed by an American citizen, the petitioner (sponsor) and beneficiary (visa applicant) must have met in person and both parties must be legally free to marry. After USCIS approves your petition, USCIS will send a Notice of Approval” (Form I-797) to the petitioner. USCIS will then forward the approved petition to the National Visa Center (NVC). NVC will send the approved petition to the United States Embassy closest to the visa applicant's residence for processing the K-1 visa.
